In the summer of 2016 I started a blog on Instagram called Here's What I Hear.

It's a space for me to review new albums that I listen to and dump my musical opinions on an amazing community of fellow music geeks.

Manuel Gagneux of Zeal & Ardor has created a sound that is impossible to imitate without being a blatant rip-off.

Blending black metal with slave chants and spirituals, the band operate in a space that has no room for others.

Here I review their latest album, Stranger Fruit, one of 2018's most haunting and captivating albums.

High on Fire have been crushing the skulls of their enemies with their thrashy, sludgy brand of heavy metal for two decades now.

They're arguably my favorite band.

Here I take a stab at ranking their 7 studio albums from amazing to amazingest... objectively, of course

No one is like Tom Waits, and Tom Waits is like no one.

His storied discography is admittedly a hard and daunting shell to crack, so allow me to take the reins.

Here's a crash course of essential Waits songs that I compiled.

If you haven't been in Koto Grill & Sushi past midnight, then you may be unaware of one of New England's best kept secrets, 1476.

The folk rock duo from Salem, MA had better things to do than talk to me, but still agreed to an interview.

Don't let the picture deter you.  They're actually super nice guys.
